Getting All Settled In

Hello to you all our family and friends. As most of you follow us on social media, you know that we arrived in Freetown, Sierra Leone early last Saturday morning. Our journey over was much longer than scheduled due to a 5 hour delay in Brussels because the plane had mechanical issues and then also another 3 hour delay in Monrovia. We are safe, healthy, and somewhat rested.

For the most part we have spent our first week settling in to our apartment. Our apartment is below the home of Rusty and Adriane Riddick, resident missionary to Sierra Leone. They are so gracious and kind to us always. The apartment is very nice and clean and we are loving making it our temporary home. This week we had cane furniture made for our gathering area and 3 furniture pieces with shelves made for our kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. Before our arrival, the Riddick's had a beautiful king size bed frame built along with installing new air conditioners, fridge, stove and shower! Below are snaps of Heidi and Sissy (duiker deer), the view from our veranda of the Atlantic, and the interior of our apartment. We will not be posting exterior pics for security reasons.

We are currently working on leasing a vehicle and driver for transportation a few days out of the week and weekends. However, we have enjoyed walking down or catching a keke to the most local market and beach.

God has surely favored and blessed our opportunities to minister thus far. We visited Lumley Beach church the first Sunday, ministered at headquarters church in Freetown on Wednesday night, and traveled out to the provinces to a village church this past Sunday. It is so great to be back in Salone to worship with God's beautiful people here. We desire to love, fellowship, disciple, and share His kingdom and gospel message as He would lead and anoint us to do so.

In the days to come, we will also be assisting with administration and teaching at the Bible College.

We will strive to share our time and stories with you as time and good internet will allow. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We love you all.
